We’re excited to welcome one of the most consistent, physical, and respected forwards in Major League Rugby to the Pacific Northwest. USA Eagle Marno Redelinghuys has officially signed with the Seattle Seawolves for the 2026 MLR season.
A proven force at both flanker and lock, Redelinghuys brings 70 MLR appearances, 63 starts, 1,600+ meters carried, 680+ tackles, and international experience to Starfire Stadium—immediately strengthening our engine room on both sides of the ball.
Born in South Africa and now representing the United States, Redelinghuys developed through elite systems around the world. His senior career began with the Leopards before stops with Western Province and the Lions, where he earned a Super Rugby appearance in 2019.
He made his MLR debut with Rugby ATL in 2020, and the following year played a key role in ATL’s run to the 2021 MLR Championship Final. In 2022, he was traded to the Houston SaberCats—an important turning point that set up the strongest stretch of his career.
Over four seasons with Houston (2022–2025), Redelinghuys became known for relentless work rate, versatility, and defensive impact. His 2023 campaign included 403 meters gained and 136 tackles, and by 2025 he had set a new personal benchmark with 146 tackles, helping Houston reach their first-ever MLR Championship appearance as Western Conference Champions.
In 2025, Redelinghuys earned his first test caps with the United States. He became Eagle #588 on July 5th, 2025, starting in a 36–17 victory over Belgium. His performances throughout the July window showed the same physicality and consistency that have defined his MLR career.
Bringing an active international forward into our pack is another major step in elevating Seattle’s standard for 2026.

Redelinghuys’ resume speaks for itself—but what excites us most is his reputation as a leader, a student of the game, and a player who elevates the people around him. His ability to play both in the second row and back row gives our forward pack flexibility and depth heading into a massive 2026 campaign.
Head Coach Allen Clarke said, “We are delighted to announce Marno for the 2026 MLR season. Marno brings strength, experience, and a proven work ethic that will immediately bolster our forward pack. His physical presence, consistency and ability to play lock or back-row make him a wonderful addition to the squad. We welcome Marno, his wife Julia, and recently born daughter Klara Jane to the Seawolves family.”
We’re building something special at Starfire—driven by toughness, unity, and championship ambition. Adding an experienced, internationally capped forward like Marno Redelinghuys reflects that mission.
Seawolves fans, join us in welcoming Marno to the pack. 2026 starts now.
